The Careers Advisory Service website, developed by the NSW Department of Education, provides students, parents and caregivers, and careers advisers with access to career information to help guide decisions about a student’s next steps after school. It is available year round.

This website provides just-in-time career support for students leaving school. It is not intended as a holistic career information service; nor does it support the broader aspects of career planning. This website relies on the Australian Government’s myfuture, a quality, current and unbiased career information and exploration service to support these broader aspects.

This website also contains links to third party sites and every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained is correct at the time of publication. The NSW Department of Education is not responsible for the condition or the contents of these external websites.

Careers Advisory Service

This website provides access to the Careers Advisory Service, an annual department initiative to enable students and their parents or caregivers to phone, email or webchat at the beginning of the summer vacation with a highly experienced school careers adviser. This service is provided shortly after the release of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) results by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

The service complements the range of career support provided by schools during the year. The service particularly supports students whose results are higher or lower than they expected.

The Careers Advisory Service is professional, friendly and impartial.
